NEWGEN DIRECT IS CERTIFIED ORGANIC

NewGen Direct is very proud to be a certified organic company, inspected & certified by the Organic Food Federation. We use a wide range of certified organic ingredients in our product, including fruits, veggies, seeds, grains, greens, sprouts, grasses, fibre & protein.

FULL TRACEABILITY

The word ‘organic’ is used to describe a regulated certified farming practice. As part of the auditing process, each ingredient is meticulously checked by our regulatory body for the full organic traceability from the farm to the final product. This ensures the integrity of any product labelled with organic ingredients. To maintain high standards, products made with certified organic ingredients are prohibited from using synthetic nutrients, GMO foods, sweeteners and most additives.

STRICT REGULATIONS

There are very strict regulations to protect the organic industry and the consumer. In addition to our company being organically inspected and certified, all the organic farms that we use, our manufacturing partner’s 1 million sqft facilities and our packaging company’s facilities, each undergo regular organic inspections and are each separately certified.

WHY ORGANIC?

Some of the main concerns with modern day farming includes;

  • The cocktail of toxic chemicals used which are potentially damaging to our health, wildlife and the environment
  • The lack of minerals in crops due to pesticides and intensive farming
  • Controversial practices, including the use of sewage sludge as a fertilizer, which is not permitted in organic farming
  • The destruction of friendly bacteria on crops due to the use of farming chemicals

In addition to providing more nutrients such as vitamin C, antioxidants and trace minerals, organic farming offers so much more. As organic farming works with nature and not against it, it uses 30% less energy compared to intensive farming practices. Wildlife is an essential part of how an organic farming system works, therefore it is no surprise that organic farmland is abundant with life. Studies in Continental Europe show that organic farms are full of life, with a significant diverse population of creatures, including earthworms, bees, butterflies and birds, as nature intended. Healthy soil contains the greatest concentration of life. There are more soil microorganisms in one teaspoon of organic soil than there are humans on the entire planet. These microorganisms are essential for life.
